I consider myself a Jill-of-all-trades editor. Skills I have include: overseeing an entire content strategy, maintaining an editorial and production schedule, assigning stories, managing writers and designers, proofing and editing copy, researching and writing articles, fact-checking, sourcing photos and approving layout. I can also tackle all things digital: managing a website, reporting on web analytics, overseeing digital marketing (social media, newsletters, SEO, blog) and more.
As a freelancer, I’ve been the web editor for Ground (the magazine for landscape architects in Ontario) since February 2016. I worked for ReNew Canada on their 2016 and 2017 Top 100 Projects publication; and for Fodor’s on two travel guides published in 2017 (Vancouver and Victoria: with Whistler, Vancouver Island and the Okanagan Valley and Pacific Northwest). I’ve also done freelance editorial work for Outpost Magazine, DARE Magazine, Homes & Living and more.
I’ve also worked in-house. I am currently on contract as editor of HGTV.ca and FoodNetwork.ca. Previously, I was the Vancouver city editor at Yellow Pages, managing all digital editorial content in Vancouver (including business stories, tips and lists) and the editor of the Living Architecture Monitor, a quarterly print and digital environmental magazine.
